HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) is a streaming protocol developed by Apple that breaks video into small HTTP-based file segments. It is widely used by streaming platforms, broadcasters, and IPTV providers.
An M3U8 file is the playlist format used by HLS. It lists the individual video segments (or quality variants) that a player fetches sequentially to reconstruct a continuous stream.
Aurio Player implements the HLS specification in the browser using the Web APIs, so you can play any publicly accessible M3U8 stream without installing additional software.
